About Debates
A psychology disagreement becomes useful when its question, evidence and limits are visible.
What this directory covers
Eighteen selected questions connect foundational explanation, methods, mind, development and assessment. Profiles distinguish a historical disagreement from the findings of a dated study. They do not turn every question into two equally supported camps, and they do not rate people or offer individual clinical advice.
What counts as progress
A better measure, a discriminating prediction, a narrower claim or an explicit value choice can all clarify a disagreement. Each profile states shared ground, a remaining issue and an editorial proposal for further testing.
Limits of this edition
This is an introductory selection, not a comprehensive literature review. Several sources were inspected only as exact abstracts. Those limits appear beside each citation. An inspection date means the record was checked on that day; it does not turn an older paper into a current consensus statement.
Use the source notes to check access and the textbook map to distinguish direct coverage from contextual background.
